STUDENT LOAN DEBT IS UNACCEPTABLE
Students in CHILE are fighting for free education from their government. In the US, we remain silent like a scared child from a abusive father...the university crushed dreams with false promises of a well paid position in our modern society. Don't be afraid to speak up... There are enough people out there to make a point and warn future students. The call for free education is one of the key demands of student groups, along with an end to education aid to private schools. They also want the government to spend more to improve the quality of education.
College costs in Chile are considered
the most expensive in the Western Hemisphere,
after the United States.
A student's family must contribute 85 percent of university expenses, while the government provides 15 percent. Only the poorest students get a nearly free education, through scholarships, grants and low-cost loans.
